Position Purpose:
Assess the patients's strengths,needs abilities and prefere! nces and develops appropriate treatment plans. Educates patient and families; facilitates increased independence in cognitive and physical functioning. To recognize individuals for their clinical expertise and utilizes this expertise to improve operations and patient treatments.
Provides Clinical excellence:
Practices in accordance with the GA practice act & code of ethics & standards of practice of the APTA; Practices safely, demonstrating error prevention techniques; Identifies barriers to safety; Practices in accordance with the policies and procedures of MUMC; Completes all initial and ongoing competencies for hospital & department orientation; Understands and demonstrates appropriate methods for care for perinatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients; Evaluates patients utilizing objective, measurable tests, subjective information and appropriate resources to validate and establish treatment plan to assist patients; Collaborates with! manager in development of plans and programs.
Exp! erience and Specialization Desired:
Experience treating both men and women in the area of pelvic floor therapy desired. (Company sponsored training available).
Strong manual therapy skills needed.
Expectation to treat general outpatient population.
Desire and ability to focus career growth towards APTA incontinence/ pelvic floor certification. (Company sponsored training available).
Education Required:
Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree or DPT preferred.
