The service maintains an unusually large outpatient and surgical practice.

The clinical and research interests of the members of the faculty are varied and complimentary including an interest in corneal anatomy, biomechanics, refractive surgery, ocular immunology and virology, keratoprosthesis and pediatric keratoplasty or vitreoretinal surgery and disease, photocoagulation, fluorescein and Indocyanine green angiography, pediatric ophthalmology, neuroophthalmology, glaucoma, oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery and ocular pathology.

Seeking individuals for a career in a time-limited appointment in academic ophthalmology with a subspecialty in cornea, external disease and refractive surgery, contact lens or vitreoretinal surgery and disease, or glaucoma, or pediatric ophthalmology, or neuroophthalmology or ! ocular oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery or ocular patho! logy and exposure to research in basic and/or clinical science.

Candidates will work with each of the faculty members of the cornea, retina, glaucoma, pediatrics, neuroophthalmology, oculoplastic surgery or ocular oncology and participate in outpatient evaluations with the faculty members, take primary responsibility for inpatient services, and will occasionally be called upon to deal with outpatient problems without supervision.

In addition, candidates will assume a role in resident teaching including staffing of resident clinics and attending resident surgery at other hospitals. The outpatient and surgical load is heavy.
