Educates patient and families. Facilitates increased independence in cognitive, communication, and physical functioning. Performs P.T. skills and techniques.
Clinical excellence Practices in accordance with the GA practice act & code of ethics & standards of practiceof the APTA; Practices safely, demonstrating error prevention techniques; Identifies barriers to safety; Practices in accorance with the policies and procedures of MUMC; Completes all initial and ongoing competencies for hospital & department orientation; Understands and demonstrates appropriate methods for care for perinatal, pediatric, adolecent, adult and geriatric patients; Evaluates patients utilizing objective, measurable tests, subjective information and appropriate resourses to validate and establish treatment plan to assist patients; Collaborates with manager in development of plans and programs; Performs treatment as planned and modifies according to patient's response; Completes all required documentation conforming to regulatory and profession standards to show evidence of evaluation, planning and treatment; Provides education to patients, families and staff on diagnosis, assisstiveequipment, and community resourses; Supervises students; Provides inservices to staff and participates in performance improvement process. People Excellence Demonstrates effective verbal, non verbal and written communication with the healthcare team/patient and signiificant others; Identifies roles of all multidisciplinary team members; Collaborates effectively with healthcare team and identifies communication barriers and locatesavailable resources to meet patient care needs; Participates in multidisciplinary team conferences; Is a team player; Give consrtuctive feedback to peers; Behaves in a trustful manner by communicating openly, honestly, fairly and consistently;
Growth excellence Demonstrates sensitvity towords unique patient/significant others needs related to age, culture and other variables; Advocates for the patient/significant other; Demonstrates advanced critical thinking and problem solving skills; Demonstrates skillful responses to customer needs based on context of the situation, respecting patient uniqueness related to age, culture and other variables; Brings forth issues related to conflict resolution, problem solving/confrontation and seeks constructive feedback to make positive changes; Demonstrates sensitivity to cultural diversity in a non-judgemental and non-discriminating manner; Displays respect for patients, physicians, team members, visitors and families; Demonstrates knowledge of departmental PI plan; Participates in health related community outreach activities; Performs other related responsibilities as requested or required
Job Requirements
Licensed in Georgia Current CPR Bachelor's Degree Required Master's Degree Preferred
