The Staff Nurse is responsible for implementing the nursing process based on expanded knowledge and experience. The nurse is responsible for coordinating and providing patient care that is age appropriate, and addresses the biological, cultural, emotional, developmental, psychosocial and patient/family education needs. In addition to patient care delivery, the nurse supports staff development, customer service, and continuous quality improvement programs. The nurse is self-directed in coordinating patient care activities and self-development activities. Charge nurse responsibilities may be required.
Required Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing; curre! nt licensure as a registered professional nurse in the State of Georgia; Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing preferred. Current BLS certification. ACLS certification may be required within 6 months of employment for some settings.
Required Minimum Experience: One (1) year of direct patient care in an acute care setting preferred.
Required Skills: Ability to read, write and speak the English language; Strong customer service and interpersonal skills; Inter- and intra-departmental coordination of patient care activities; Delegation skills required; Ability to multi-task essential; Ability to function in stressful and emergency situations essential; Strong detail orientation required; Computer skills required; EMR experienced preferred. Personal time management skills are required; Compliance with the American Nurses' Association Code of Ethics for Professional Nurses is required
