Cardiac Intensive Care Unit of this leading academi! c childrenÂ's hospital serves
as a clinical specialist in the 27 bed unit that cares for critically ill
pediatric patients with congenital and acquired heart disease. Providing comprehensive care and follow-up to
patients aged 0-18, the PA in the CICU evaluates patient histories and
physicals, and develops and implements patient plans of care, including medical
and pharmacological management, as needed.
They initiate referrals and follow-up on consults to other providers,
and they are a resource for age-appropriate and effective patient, family and
staff education. The PA in the CICU evaluates patient outcomes to identify
opportunities for improvement in the unit, and participates in research with
the goal of incorporating their findings into practice.
The CICU provides ECMO, LVAD and
Berlin Heart assistance, and their award-winning CICU team has just been
recognized with the Gold Beacon Award for Excellence, a nation! al award given by
the American Association of Critical-car! e Nurses to those who exemplify
staff-driven excellence in professional practice, patient care and
outcomes. This leading academic 500 bed

Qualifications:
MSN or MasterÂ's degree in Medical Science from an accredited
PA program, required; current NCCPA and PA licensure by the State of Georgia,
required; NCCPA certification, required; BLS and PALS certifications, required
within 6 months of employment; acute care experience, preferred.
