This business is currently focused on 4 Lysosomal Storage Disorders - Gaucher, Fabry, Pompe and MPS1. This work will be done in a manner that is focused on Customer Success and positive outcomes for health care providers, patients and Genzyme.
Activities require a coordinated, cross functional approach with Medical Affairs, Patient and Product Services, Managed Markets, Marketing, Field Support and Business Operations.Job Responsibilities:Develop and update annual Business Plan to maximize business opportunities within territories.Educate doctors, nursing staff, pharmacists and genetic counselors regarding Gaucher, Fabry, Pompe and MPS1 disorders and the safe use of enzyme replacement therapy products.Build and maintain established rapport with assigned physicians and expand the number of physicians involved and interested in Lysosomal Storage Disorders.Target high potential physician subspecialty groups to identify new patients.Plan, organize, implement and evaluate: Medical Lectures by Experts in Lysosomal Storage Diseases.Identify new patients and arrange via the appropriate mechanism for them to begin treatment.Maintain and build on existing links with local patient organizations.Identify and develop new treating physicians and infusion centers and facilitate educational outreach to the medical and patient community.Plan, organize, implement and evaluate marketing programs including lectures, patient meetings, dinner programs and others.Work with cross functional internal counterparts to optimize patient care. Qualifications Basic Qualifications:BS or BA degree and 3-5+ years pharmaceutical/biotechnology sales experience preferably in the LSDsExcellent clinical selling skills and high level of knowledge relating to the treatment of LSDs.Experience with pre-launch/launch; development of a new specialty market and biotech salesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively and collaboratively cross- functionallyDemonstrated experience working in a matrix environmentProven ability to work effectively in a cross-functional teamSelf-starter with proven track record and demonstrated clinical selling skills.Strong organizational, communication and planning skillsPreferred:Masters degree preferredPreferred experience calling on pediatric and/or adult sub-specialists in Nephrology, Neurology, Rheumatology, Pulmonology, Neuro-muscular; identifying patients and direct physician educationPreferred experience in a complex payor/reimbursement market
