Nimber as a collaborative delivery service, connects people who need to send something with people going the same way. Whether you are on the road, taking the train or traveling by other means, you can use your mobile phone to pick up and deliver, make some money and save the environment as well.
As a peer-to-peer marketplace within the sharing economy we are turning underutilized assets and resources into new jobs, income streams and community networks. We have recently also launched Nimber Business and are collaborating with retailers across industries solving the last-mile deliveries together, providing businesses with a sustainable delivery solution while seeing increased customer satisfaction levels.
After a successful launch in Norway we continue our path towards solving the biggest challenge of delivery, the last mile. To achieve this, we are growing our in-house team and are looking for an awesome Back End engineer to join our product team.
The Role
We currently have a mobile application, a web application and web services and we would like to maintain and enhance also the backend services but also create new amazing things together in 2023. We're looking for a passionate Back End developer who loves working with the latest technologies and is fast adapting to today's ever changing landscape of technologies and methodologies. As a Back End developer, you will be responsible for the server-side web application logic as well as for the integration of the front-end part.

Responsibilities
- Be involved and participate in the overall application lifecycle
- Collaborate with the Front End developers
- Define and communicate technical and design requirements
- Build high-quality reusable code
- Develop functional and sustainable web applications
- Troubleshoot and debug applications
- Conduct UI tests and optimise performance
- Manage cutting-edge technologies to improve applications
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team of designers, developers and system administrators
Skills and Technical knowledge
- A university or college degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or relevant technology-related field
- At least 3 years experience in software development
- Experience in using version control software such as Git
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken
- Excellent understanding of OOP, knowledge of frameworks and design patterns will be highly appreciated
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs for web-based applications
- Experience developing backend applications using Node.js
- Experience with Typescript (MS bad we know)
- Familiarity with data structures and databases (SQL and NoSQL)
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
- Good organisational and time-management skills and proactive attitude
