PSA Healthcare is in need of a Physical Therapist for it's College Park PPEC.
PSA Healthcare offers unique day treatment centers managed by Pediatric Registered Nurses (RNs) and staffed with skilled nursing and healthcare professionals who are trained to care for special kids in a safe caring, developmentally-stimulating environment.
Responsibilities:
Evaluates the child to include: neuromuscular status, developmental level, perceptual motor functioning, oral-motor functioning, need for adaptive equipment/appliances, fine motor skills and self care
Initiates treatment in accordance with physician's order
Maintains thorough and accurate records, documents therapy program and progress of the patient, reporting to ! the physician the patients reaction to treatment
Designs a! nd implements a therapeutic program to meet individual needs of the patient
Documents patient charges for billing purposes
Monitors adaptive equipment needs and makes recommendations as needed
Provides training to program staff, parents and/or guardians to maximize child's therapy
Consults with the staff and parents to integrate each child's physical therapy goals into daily activities
Reflects current knowledge of trends, research and recent advances in the physical therapy care of the medically complex child
Participates in patient care conferences
Maintains patient confidentiality
Maintains effective communication between staff, health care team members, and family

Bachelor's degree from an approved Physical Therapy program
Licensure as a registered Physical Therapist in the state of practice
Registration with the American Physical Therapists in the state of practice if required by state
Current Basic Life Support Certification
Physical Requirements:
Frequent lifting and repositioning of patients
Repeated or prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, twisting and occasional climbing of stairs
Acute sense of sight and hearing (corrected or uncorrected) and strong sense of touch, smell and taste
Must be able to appropriately respond physically and psychologically to emergency situations
Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other health conditions
