EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Four-year degree from regionally accredited college in a nursing field. At least one year of successful experience in nursing with ! preference given for experience in public health, school health, home health and/or pediatrics.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, PERMITS:
Must hold a current Georgia license and current certification in CPR. American Heart Association Heartsaver Instructor preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Incumbent must be able to provide a Criminal Background Check with results that adhere to Bulloch County Board of Education Policy GAK(1).
Ability to work in a self-directed and autonomous environment within state and local policies and procedures.
Ability to work within the school environment under the daily supervision of the principal and overall supervision of the Lead Nurse.
! PERFORMANCE FUNCTIONS: Demonstrates the ability to:
! Assess and address health needs for the student.
Participate in the development of system-level and school-level plans for health services, emergency action, other need areas as needed.
Serve as a resource for health information and as a referral agent for healthcare in the community.
Acquire and maintain equipment, health-related resource materials, and supplies.
Perform according to school and system safety plans in a crisis.
Collaborate with school personnel and families in the Student Support Team and 504 processes.
Participate in professional learning and departmental meetings as directed by the school and/or system.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan and implement individual health care plans
Conduct general clinic and medication administration according to established policy and procedure. Evaluate student complaints and injuries and contact parents as needed.
Conduct screenings! /testing as needed; including lice, hearing, vision, dental health, and others as assigned. Produce required reports and records relating to screenings.
Assist with Hospital/Homebound Program.
Assist with Health instruction as schedule permits.
Process and submit required paperwork, reports, records, and statistics according to daily, monthly and yearly guidelines.
Maintain and clean clinic area including refrigerator and medication cart.
Annually conduct Universal Precautions Education for faculty/staff.
Produce annual Health Alert List.
Process and submit paperwork/forms for Medicaid Med Administration billing.
Adhere to code of ethics. Deal with sensitive and/or confidential information in an appropriate manner. Follow dress code for nurses and/or street clothes according to policies and procedures established health services and Board of Education.
Carry out such other duties which may be a! ssigned by direct supervisor.
