The
RCIS
performs diagnostic quality imaging procedures for the care of patient population we serve and participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in the catheterization laboratory. They also provide assistance to the physician during catheterization procedures.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate technical imaging equipment related to patient care imaging, image processing, imagine transmission archiving and computerized Syngo Information System as required of the RCIS Technologist.
Assists in imaging procedures to produce the highest quality diagnostic scans for interpretation by the Cardiologists.
Able to assist in multiple imaging procedures in more than one of the following imaging area as applicable to the RCIS position:
Routine angiography, radiography and fluoroscopy
Interventional
Operate and maintain skilled, working knowledge of all equipment used in the cath lab with emphasis on physiologic monitoring for diagnostic, interventional and EP procedure.
Prepare lab for patientâs procedure.
Assist the physician, as required, with imaging procedures performed in the Catheterization Lab to include the administration of contrast media and assist and set-up for procedures.
Function as scrub and circulator during procedures as needed.
Maintains ongoing quality assurance in the Catheterization Lab area and is responsible for daily maintenance of the Catheterization Lab area.
Assist the RN with patient care, to include patient transport and patient setup.
Attends all required system and departmental education opportunities.
Participate in the achievement of organizational and departmental goals.
Perform other responsibilities as required.
Provides proof of RCIS certification and CPR certification renewal within 30 days of expiration.
While clinical staff may serve a specific patient population, they have the potential to care for patients within the age population range served at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Registered as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist.
Current experience in a cardiac cath lab is required.
A minimum of one year of experience in providing care as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist and pediatric experience preferred.
BLS certification is required.
Must be able to successfully pass the Basic Windows Skill Assessment at 80% or higher rating within 30 days of date of hire.
