WellStar’s Medical Group is growing, which means wonderful career opportunities for you! We have a need for someone to work as our Medical Assistant at our Pediatric & Adolescent Center in Smyrna. The ideal candidate will need to be customer service driven, handle a fast-paced environment and a team player! Overall responsibilities include:
- Escorts patient to exam room in a timely manner, obtains history/chief compliant, vital signs, weight and documents.
- Prepares patient and assists provider with examination and procedures, anticipating and providing necessary equipment and supplies.
- Assists with patient education.
- Calls in prescriptions as directed by provider.
- Receives, organizes, counts and records all stock and sample medication. Keeps drug cabinet and samples closet clean and orderly and free from expired drugs.
- Assures that all quality control measures are completed and documented on appropriate logs.
- Is familiar with emergency treatment protocols and functions in accordance with protocols when applicable.
- Cleans rooms and equipment, stocks appropriately and submits orders for supplies as needed.
- High School degree required.
- Graduate from a Medical Assistant program preferred or 2-3 years experience in a Physician’s office. Medical Assistant certification preferred.
- Work experience in a practice setting preferred.
- Computer experience required.
- Current BCLS certification.
- Must be organized and attentive to detail.
- Must be able to work quickly and efficiently to assure patient comfort and satisfaction.
- Able to communicate and understand verbal and written English language.
